본 연구는 일개대학의 학생생활상담연구소에 대한 실태를 구체적으로 파악함으로써 학생들의 입학에서부터 졸업 후 취업까지 연계된 지원과 적극적인 서비스 제공에 필요한 정보를 수집하여 분석하고자 시도되었다.
연구를 위한 자료는 2014년 11월 17일부터 21일까지 I시에 위치한 W대학의 21개 학과에 학과별로 모든 학년별로 학생 수 대비 약 25%의 설문지를 배부하여 회수하였다. 총 1,400부의 설문지를 배부하였으며, 회수되지 않은 설문지 23부와 응답이 불성실한 19부를 제외한 1,358부를 대상으로 하였다. 본 상담연구소에서 자체 제작한 총 30문항, 10개영역으로 구성된 설문지를 사용하였으며, SPSS WIN 21.0 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 전산 처리하였다.
본 연구의 결과로 대상자들이 고민하는 문제로는 진로 및 취업문제(60.9%)가 가장 많았으며, 응답자의 45%가 학생생활상담소의 존재여부를 인식하지 못하였고, 이용한 학생의 만족도는 40.6%가 만족한다고 응답하였다. 학생생활상담연구소의 상담실은 7.0%만이 이용한경험이 있다고 하였으며, 평생지도교수와 상담한 경험이 있는 학생은 64.2%이었으며, 상담내용은 취업문제가 46.1%로 가장 많았다.
본 연구결과를 바탕으로 구체적인 홍보전략을 통해 학생생활상담연구소의 홍보를 강화하고, 취업 및 학업문제와 관련된 학생들의 고민을 해결해 주기위한 다양한 프로그램의 활성화와 평생지도교수제에 대한 지원전략을 통해 학생생활 상담연구소의 역할을 활성화 하는 방안을 제언한다.

영어 초록

This study was conducted in order to collect and analyze information for providing interlinked support and active services to students from their entrance to employment after graduation through surveying the current state of the Student Counseling Center at a university.
Data for this study were collected by distributing questionnaires to about 25% of students including freshmen through seniors at each of 21 academic departments of W University in I City during the period from the 17th to 21st of November, 2014, and recovering them. A total of 1,400 questionnaires were distributed, and with exclusion of 23 questionnaires unrecovered and 19 ones inadequately answered, 1,358 questionnaires were used as valid data. The questionnaire was developed by the present counseling center, and it consisted of 30 questions in 10 areas. Collected data were processed with SPSS WIN 21.0.
According to the results of this study, the biggest concerns of the subjects were their future career and employment (60.9%). In addition, 45% of the respondents did not know the existence of the Student Counseling Center, and 40.6% of the students who had used the center replied that they were satisfied with the services. Only 7.0% of the respondents replied that they had an experience in using the counseling room of the Student Counseling Center, and 64.2% of the respondents had an experience in counseling with the lifelong supervisor. The most common issue of counseling was employment as found in 46.1%.
Based on these findings, it is suggested to strengthen the publicity of the Student Counseling Center through more specific publicity strategies, to activate diverse programs for resolving students’ issues related to employment and study, and to improve the roles of the Student Counseling Center through strategic support for the lifelong supervisor system.
